Camp Lejeune:

  • 0830 Stress Management Workshop: Bldg 302, Health Promotions, Holcomb Blvd..Experiencing Depression? Apathy? Anger? Anxiety? These feelings are just some of the symptoms stress can cause. Learning to identify the causes and symptoms of stress can help you successfully manage daily hassles and major life stressors. Discover new ways to relieve stress and begin the journey towards being stress free. This free workshop is open all ID cardholders. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.
  • 1730: Fall Kayaking Tour! Enjoy a FREE scenic one-hour guided tour through beautiful waterways! Reserve your spot at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge Memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 12 and up. View the flyer!
  • 1830: Beyond the Brief Workshop Series: MCFTB Office Bldg LC 4012-A Butler Drive, Midway Park. Participants learn that the CACO process is a part of the military culture and that every spouse should understand how the process works, when it is implemented and why it is carried out in the manner it is. Clearly yet sensitively, all aspects are discussed, notification through benefits. This workshop is a must for all spouses, and for all situations. Spouses should feel free to ask questions in a small intimate setting
  •  1830: Emergency Preparedness Workshop: MCFTB Office Bldg LC 4012-A Butler Drive, Midway Park. MCFTB presents “Emergency Preparedness.” Safety begins with awareness. This two hour interactive workshop will enable you to be better prepared for potential natural and manmade hazards that can threaten your life. Knowledge is confidence and confidence begins with being informed. 
  • 1830: Challenging Children Workshop - Token Systems: Bldg 40, Russell Marine & Family Services Center, Room 139. This free workshop will provide techniques for parents, childcare providers and educators to manage difficult behaviors. This free monthly workshop held on the 4th Tuesday of every month, is open to all ID card holders. Free childcare information will be shared upon registration please call 451-4103. (If you can’t make the evening workshops, we’ll be offering a daytime series as well. Please call 451-41

  • 1300: Stress & Anger Management Classes, Series 4, Part 3 of 4: AS-90, Marine & Family Programs . Stress Management Part 3 : Conflict Resolution. The third class in our four part series focuses on handling and resolving conflicts both in the home and in the workplace. To reserve your seat call us at 449-6110.

Understanding the root cause of anger can help you transform your life. Learn how to discharge and express anger in appropriate ways. Guest Speaker: Lisa Rayburn, Horticultural Extension Agent from the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Office. Bring your gardening questions and enjoy this free presentation and lunch.   • 0900: Federal Employment Overview: Bldg AS-212, Rm 110. Do you want to work for the federal government? Ever wondered what kinds of jobs there are, how to apply or what types of benefits they have? This class will go over the different types of agencies, positions and hiring practices of various federal agencies. Topics discussed will include: How to read a vacancy announcement, website resources, Veterans and Spousal Preference and civil service benefits. Open to all active duty, DoD personnel, veterans and their spouses. Pre-registration is required at 449-6110.
  •  1300: Federal Resume Workshop: Bldg AS-212, Rm 110. Curious on what a federal style resume is? Learn websites for federal agencies and online resume builders like USAJOBS. Find out how to format your resume, where to look for key words and how to navigate the application process to get results! All active duty, DoD personnel, veterans and their spouses.   • 0800:  Marriage Enrichment Workshop Day 1 of 2: MCFTB Office Training Room, LC-4012A (Midway Park Marine & Family Annex) . PREP (Prevention Relationship Enhancement Program) has helped thousands of military couples experience greater joy within their marriage as they learned how to really listen to and understand one another better. Call Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) 451-0176, to register for the PREP approach 2-day Marriage Enrichment workshop. Be sure you’re registered with the Child Development Center (CDC) to take advantage of free childcare: call 449-9552 for more information. Open to all military couples.
  • 1200: CAMP LEJEUNE JOB FAIR & EDUCATION EXPO: Goettge Memorial Field House & Marston Pavilion. he Job Fair & Education Expo is for those who are seeking jobs and/or educational opportunities. This event is open to active duty personnel, military retirees, their families, Camp Lejeune and New River employees, and Coastal Carolina Community College students. Come meet directly with companies that want to hire our best military service men and women. Be prepared for onsite interviews, dress to impress, and have your résumés ready for employers. Discover all the educational opportunities that are available and gather information about distance learning as well. Due to safety concerns, no children are allowed. Call 449-9706 for more info.
  • 1300: Taking Control of Your Finances: Bldg 302 Holcomb Blvd.  This interactive training session covers the basics of starting a personal financial plan. Participants focus on developing realistic and measurable personal financial goals. Maintaining a workable budget to include savings, understanding military pay, and managing your credit/checkbook are further explored.   • 1300: Car Buying - Getting a Fair Deal: Bldg 302 Holcomb Blvd. An interactive training session designed to help individuals develop knowledge and skills necessary to achieve financial goals. Explore your legal rights as a consumer, analyze advertising techniques and sales practices, and discuss appropriate steps to protect yourself against SCAMS and FRAUD.   • 1700: Twisted Thursdays at Paradise Point Golf Course:  Want to skip traffic on Thursday afternoons? Stop by Paradise Point Golf Course every Thursday for Twisted Thursdays and say goodbye to traffic! Enjoy a different format each week with no restrictions. The $12 entry fee includes your greens fee and cart rental. Show time is 1700, tee off at 1730. The 3rd Annual Casino Royale hosted by 2D Marine Division, welcomes all Officers, E8s, E9s and Base Civilian equivalents and their guests to attend this exciting evening at Marston Pavilion. Enjoy playing Craps, Roulette, Black Jack, and Slots; win door prizes throughout the evening. Tickets are $25 per person and include $10K in Game Chips (no cash value) and dinner.   •  0930: In The Midst of the West: Come have Wild West Fun! The different venues will emphasize fun, stress relief, networking, communication, and so much more! The whole family will come together for the last hour for fun activities for all ages. All participants need to call 449-5343 to register. Children 5 and older at the Marina, Adult Venue MCFTB, On-Site Childcare for kids not yet in Kindergarten. This event is open to all families "in the midst" of a deployment.

  • Kayak Fishing on Courthouse Bay: Courthouse Bay Marina. Cost is $5.00 and includes a kayak and guide. Bring your fishing gear! Meet at the Marina. Register and pay at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge Memorial Field House. First come; first served; space limited. Open to all authorized patrons ages 12 and up. Patrons under 18 must be accompanied by parent/guardian.

Camp Lejeune:
  • 0830: Cooperative Parenting & Divorce Workshop: MCFTB Training Rm – LC 4012A Butler Dr., Midway Park, Marine & Family Programs Annex. This workshop offers valuable insights to couples going through a divorce. There’s probably not a more stressful time for both parents and children. This free workshop gives separated and divorcing parents the power to make positive changes to shield children from conflict and help establish a positive, long term relationship with the child’s other parent. Please call Marine Corps Family Team Building to register 451-0176.
