Events, Workshops, and Activities aboard Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River!

********Registration for Teen Squad Summer Camp on Lejeune continues ALL WEEK!******


7 June - Tuesday
Camp Lejeune:

  • 0830: Stress Management : Bldg 302, Holcomb Blvd.  Learning to identify the causes and symptoms of stress can help you successfully manage daily hassles and major life stressors. Discover new ways to relieve stress and begin the journey towards being stress free. This free workshop is open all ID cardholders. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.

  • 1000: Well-Baby Clinic: Tarawa Terrace Community Center. Visiting Nurses will be on hand to weigh & measure your child as well as answer any questions about your child's health. The clinic also offers a FREE clothing exchange and open to all military families with military ID card.

  • 1700: Kayak in the Sun: Camp Johnson, behind Bldg M104. FREE scenic one-hour guided tour through Camp Lejeune's waterways! Register at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18.

8 June - Wednesday
Camp Lejeune:
  • 0830: Anger Management Workshop - Health Promotions, Bldg 302 Holcomb Blvd. Out of control rage and angry actions cause hurt, pain, and distress. Understanding the root cause of anger can help you transform your life. Learn how to discharge and express anger in appropriate ways. Move towards managing your anger instead of letting your anger control you. This free workshop is open all ID cardholders. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.

  • 1830: Beyond the Brief Workshop Series - Finance 101! MCFTB Office Bldg LC 4012-A Butler Drive, Midway Park. Easy to understand, interactive exercises assist participants in working through personal finances… today, tomorrow and in the future. This includes combat pay as well as any additional funding provided to deploying service members. Free childcare is available - you MUST contact the Brewster Child Development Center in advance to register: (910) 450-8467. Your child must be registered with the Children, Youth & Teen Program Resource office (910) 449-9552/9563. For more information and registration, call Marine Corps Family Team Building at 451-0176.
New River:
  • 0900: LINKS for Spouses: AS-233, New River Chapel Annex. There is always something left to learn AND you can meet fellow military spouses! Come and learn about the military way of life! This event is a two day workshop. Free and open to any and all spouses of our military branches. For more information, call 449-4676/5343.

9 June - Thursday

  • 0900: Making the Right Move PCS Workshop: Bldg 40, Russell Marine & Family Services. MCCS Relocation Assistance Classroom. Topics covered include: travel and pay entitlements, shipping personal property, travel tips, moving with pets, finding appropriate housing, Military OneSource, Military Home Front, and accessing services at the new duty station.   • 1000: Spousal POST Deployment Support Group: Bldg 40, Russell Marine & Family Services. This is your opportunity to come listen and see that you are NOT ALONE. No pressure from anyone to talk or participate. Just come check it out. Wounded Warrior Battalion will be on hand to answer questions about the Wounded Warrior process and give information relating to benefits, resources, compensation, and more!   • 1300: Car Buying - Getting a Fair Deal: Bldg 302, Holcomb Blvd. Explore your legal rights as a consumer, analyze advertising techniques and sales practices, and discuss appropriate steps to protect yourself against SCAMS and FRAUD. All ID cardholders can register for this free workshop, please call 910-451-2865.

  • 0800: New River Welcome Aboard Brief: New River Enlisted Club.Welcome Aboard Briefs are an opportunity for newcomers aboard MCAS New River to become oriented with their new duty station and the surrounding community. In accordance with MCO and ASO 1754.2A all E7 and below and 0-4 and below are required to attend, however, all military, dependents, and DoD personnel are welcome to come. For more information call Marine & Family Programs at 449-5258.

  • 1300: Healthy Dating - How NOT to Marry a Jerk: AS-232, Marine & Family Annex.This class discusses dating skills based on the Random Attachment Model. Open to all authroized patrons. Pre-register 5 days prior to event at 449-5343.

10 June - Friday
Camp Lejeune:

  • 1700: Kayak in the Sun: Courthouse Bay Marina. Free scenic paddling tour of Camp Lejeune's waterways! Register at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18.

  • 1830: FREE MOVIE NIGHT! "Knight and Day": Harriotte B Smith Library. Joins us for a free showing of Knight and Day, PG-13. We'll have popcorn and drinks. Please call 451-306 for more information. Open to all authorized patrons.

New River:
  • 1930: SMP POOL PARTY!!!: Station Pool.  Cool off after a stressful week with a dip in the pool! Join SMP for an adults-only pool party and tons of fun, games and free food! Open to all active duty and their guests 18 and over. Call 449-5145 for more information.



11 June- Saturday
Camp Lejeune:
  • 0400: Deep Sea Fishing trip: A full day of fun and fishing! Departing for Morehead City from the Dunkin Donuts parking lot on Lejeune at 0400. Bring a cooler for your catch. Cost $90 including transportation and everything you need to fish. Registration Deadline: 8 Jun. Register at Outdoor Adventures Office, building 751 Goettge Memorial Field House. Boat leaves Morehead City, NC at 0600, returning at 1700. You’ll get back to base around 1900. For more information, call 910-451-1440. View the flyer!
  • 0900: Learn to Sail 2-Day Basic Class: Gottschalk Marina. Receive U.S. Sailing Certification upon completion of course. Open to authorized patrons age 18+. Cost: $91.95 (includes class materials); register at Gottschalk Marina by day of class. First come, first served. For more info, call 451-8307/8345

  • 1700: Military Community Art Exhibit: Tarawa Terrace Community Center. Art submissions may be submitted to MCCS Tarawa Terrace Community Center from 30 May-7 Jun. Submissions must be family-friendly​. Winning artwork will be displayed at the community center until 18 Jun. This FREE event includes cheese, refreshments and crafts for kids.   • 1900: SMP KAREOKE CONTEST! New River Enlisted Club.  Join us for a free karaoke night, watch your friends strut their stuff or do a little performing of your own! And as an extra special bonus this month, prizes will be awarded to the best and most entertaining singers! Open to all active duty and their guests 18 and over

  • 0900: Learn to Sail 2-Day Basic Class (Day2): Gottschalk Marina. Receive U.S. Sailing Certification upon completion of course. Open to authorized patrons age 18+.
