28 June - Tuesday
Camp Lejeune:


  • 1700: Kayak in the Sun: Camp Johnson, behind Bldg M104. FREE scenic one-hour guided tour through Camp Lejeune's waterways! Register at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18.

  • 1830: Challenging Children Workshop - Self-Help Skills: Rusell Marine & Family Services - Bldg 40, Rm 139. This free monthly workshop held on the 4th Tuesday of every month, is open to all ID card holders. Free childcare information will be shared upon registration please call 451-4103. (If you can’t make the evening workshops, we’ll be offering a daytime series as well. Please call 451-4103 for more information.)
New River:
  • 0900: Fish Philosophy for Deployment: As-232. Don't miss out! This high, energy workshop can help you incorporate "Be There, Play, Make Their Day, Choose Your Attitude" into your deployment. Advanced registration required. Free childcare is available, please call 449-5343/4673 for requirements.
  • 1630: Keystone & Torch Club for Teens: New River Youth & Teen Activity Center (AS-612). Open to ages 11-18.

  • 1700: Triple Play Challenge: New River Youth & Teen Activity Center (AS-612) Ages 6-18

  • 0830: How to avoid falling for a jerk or jerkette- Health Promotions, Bldg 302. Think you have what it takes to select the right partner for a great life-long relationship? “How to Avoid Falling For a Jerk or Jerkette” is designed to help singles and singles-again of all ages with partner selection. Please join us as we empower you to build healthier relationships through the journey of picking a lifetime partner! This free workshop is open all ID cardholders.   • 1830: Juggling During Deployment: MCFTB Office Bldg LC 4012-A Butler Drive, Midway Park, NC 28544 . This interactive workshop is designed to help you learn to maintain time for family, relationships, work, and fun. This workshop will provide you the tools needed to identify, prioritize, and maximize life’s events as well as reduce the stressors associated with them
New River:
  • 0900: Four Lenses for Reintegration: As-232, MCFTB. O​ne of the most valuable tools you can learn is to look with understanding into the heart of another. This training is specifically designed for this purpose. Used properly, the principles you will discover in the workshop will empower you to improve the personal relationships in your life. Open to couples who have recently experienced a Homecoming in the last 3 months and are in the process of reintegration. Free on-site childcare with advanced registration.

  • 0800: Command Leadership Training-Family Advocacy Program- Bldg 707. Attention Officers and Staff Noncommissioned Officers, this training meets the training requirements of MARADMIN 280/07. Must pre-register, class size is limited. Handouts provided. Reservations and Information 910-451-2864/28​76
  • 1300: Kayak in the Sun. Onslow Beach ICW. Enjoy a FREE scenic one-hour guided tour through Camp Lejeune's waterways! Register at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18.
  • 1700: Pizza & Pasta Night at Smedley's Cafe: Paradise Point Officers Club. Italian indulgence! Our buffet will include a variety of pizzas and pastas to please your palate. Price includes garlic bread sticks and garden salad, a non-alcoholic beverage. Open to all authorized O'Club patrons. $9.95 Adults, Children 4-10, $5.95, Children 3 and under eat free! Reservations recommended, please call 910-451-2465 opt. 2.

  • 1700: Twisted Thursdays at Paradise Point Golf Course: Want to skip traffic on Thursday afternoons? Stop by Paradise Point Golf Course every Thursday for Twisted Thursdays and say goodbye to traffic! Enjoy a different format each week with no restrictions. The $12 entry fee includes your greens fee and cart rental. Show time is 1700, tee off at 1730. Meet new people, end the workday on a good note, and, best of all, don’t sit in traffic on Thursdays anymore!
New River:
  • 0900: Family Care Plan Workshop: AS-232. You've gotta have one so come learn how to have a great one! Find out how valuable Hurricane Preparedness: the Family Care Plan is, and the components it contains. Legal will be on hand to discuss the different kinds of wills and notarize powers of attorney. *Marine Corps Order 1740.13A requires all single-parent Marines and dual active duty military couples to complete a Family Care Plan.   • 1000: Pre-School Story Time at the Station Library: Come join us as we read stories, make crafts, and play games. Open to all dependents 3 - 5 years. Call 449-6715 for more information

  • 0900: Budget for Baby Workshop: Workforce Learning Center, Bldg 524 (Corner of McHugh and O). The Budget for Baby workshop will teach budgeting techniques & the impact a baby has on a family's finances. A FREE layette is available to all USMC/USN families who attend that class and are expecting a baby. The layettes contain brand name infant items and a handmade blanket. Call 451-5346/5584 to register.
  • 1130: EFMP Meet & Greet: Russell Marine & Family Services, Bldg 40, Rm 136.  Exceptional Family Member Program will be hosting a Meet & Greet gathering the first Friday of every month. Come meet other EFMP families and learn about resources available on base. Free childcare will be available with advance reservation- call 451-2672. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, call 451-4394.

4:30 - Independence Day celebration at W.P.T. Hill Field. FREE & open to the public!

2000: 2nd Marine Division Band
There will also be a Naturalization Ceremony at 6:30 p.m., plus children’s activities and inflatables. Please, no pets, no alcohol, no sparklers, and no personal fireworks. Allow extra time to clear the security checkpoint.  RAIN DATE IS JULY 5!
New River: 

  • 1030: LINKS for Parents & Extended Family Members: New River Chapel Annex. The program offers an orientation to the Marine Corps lifestyle, helping the participant better understand the unique challenges military life often presents. With an increased level of understanding comes an increased ability to provide support and advice as the parent or family member of a Marine. For more information call 449-5343/4676.
