21 June - Tuesday
Camp Lejeune:
  • 0830: Stress Management Workshop: Bldg 302, Health Promotions. Learning to identify the causes and symptoms of stress can help you successfully manage daily hassles and major life stressors. Discover new ways to relieve stress and begin the journey towards being stress free. This free workshop is open all ID cardholders. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.


  • 1700: Kayak in the Sun: Camp Johnson, behind Bldg M104. FREE scenic one-hour guided tour through Camp Lejeune's waterways! Register at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18.

  • 1800: Summer Solstice Pool Party: Paradise Point pool. Join us a fun family cookout! We'll be grilling hamburger and hotdogs poolside and dishing out baked beans, potato salad, brownies, iced tea and punch for $4.95 per person. Open to all authorized O'Club patrons. Cookout reservations required by Mon, 20 Jun, calling 451-2465 opt 2

  • 0830: Parenting Class: As-233, New River Chapel Annex.This four day class provides "hands-on" information for parents to make informed and responsible decisions for their toddlers and young children. For more information or to register, call 449-4866/4867.  Free childcare at the CDC with advanced registration and completion of paperwork as well as a copy of your child's shot records.

  • 1630: Keystone & Torch Club for Teens: New River Youth & Teen Activity Center (AS-612). Open to ages 11-18.

  • 1700: Triple Play Challenge: New River Youth & Teen Activity Center (AS-612) Ages 6-18



22 June - Wednesday
Camp Lejeune:
  • 0830: Anger Management Workshop- Health Promotions, Bldg 302 Holcomb Blvd. Out of control rage and angry actions cause hurt, pain, and distress. Understanding the root cause of anger can help you transform your life. Learn how to discharge and express anger in appropriate ways. Move towards managing your anger instead of letting your anger control you. This free workshop is open all ID cardholders. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register. 

  • 1100: Challenging Children - ADHD/ODD. Bldg 40 - Russell Marine & Family Services, Rm 139. What can you do when your child starts screaming in a crowded area for no reason? How should you react? How can we help our children have better behavior in any situation? This daytime workshop presented by Butterfly Effects for parents, educators and childcare providers will provide insight into the actions of those more challenging children and what they can do to alleviate some of the problems. Free childcare is provided with advance registration. For more information please call 910-451-4103. There will also be an evening session offered soon.

  • 1830: Beyond the Brief Workshop Series- The difference between Combat Stress and PTSD : MCFTB Office Bldg LC 4012-A Butler Drive, Midway Park. Participants are guided through the confusion of this sometimes overused but concerning topic. Group discussions include: the differences between Combat stress and PTSD, Signs and Symptoms, what is normal, and when or if to be concerned. Spouses leave with a clear understanding on what do to if symptoms persist and who to contact if need be. A very informative and enlightening workshop. Commemorating the birth of the modern Olympic Games, Olympic Day is not only a celebration, but an international effort to promote fitness and wellbeing in addition to Olympic ideals of Fair Play, Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship.Ages 6-17.  View the flyer!!

  • 1300: Taking Control of Your Finances: Bldg 302, Holdcomb Blvd. This interactive training session covers the basics of starting a personal financial plan. Participants focus on developing realistic and measurable personal financial goals. Maintaining a workable budget to include savings, understanding military pay, and managing your credit/checkboo​k are further explored. All ID cardholders can register for this free workshop, please call 910-451-2865.

  • 1300: Kayak in the Sun: CANCELED THIS TIME!!

  • 1700: Twisted Thursdays at Paradise Point Golf Course: Skip Thursday evening traffic! Enjoy a different format each week with no restrictions. The $12 entry fee includes your greens fee and cart rental. Show time is 1700, tee off at 1730. Meet new people, end the workday on a good note, and, best of all, don’t sit in traffic on Thursdays anymore! Please call 451-5445

  • 1800: Wounded Warrior Caregiver Support Group: Bldg 40, Russell Marine & Family Services. No pressure to talk or participate. Do you have questions and need answers? Come find out that there ARE others experiencing your same journey.   • 0800: New River Welcome Aboard Brief: New River Enlisted Club. Get to know your new duty station! Welcome Aboard Briefs are an opportunity for newcomers aboard MCAS New River to become oriented with their new duty station and the surrounding community. In accordance with MCO and ASO 1754.2A all E7 and below and 0-4 and below are required to attend, however, all military, dependents, and DoD personnel are welcome to come. Smedley's Cafe, Paradise Point Officers' Club. 1. a variety of fresh cut vegetables and meats, with sauces that you pick, sautéed to perfection on the patio of Smedley's Café 2. a dish traditionally accompanied by white or fried rice, soup, eggrolls, and garden salad 3. a popular event for the whole family! $.95 per ounce, price includes drink (non alcoholic) and dessert. The Budget for Baby workshop will teach budgeting techniques & the impact a baby has on a family's finances. A FREE layette is available to all USMC/USN families who attend that class and are expecting a baby. The layettes contain brand name infant items and a handmade blanket.   • 0800: Surf Camps & Cookout! Onslow Beach. Want to ride the waves? Sign up for this year's Surf Camps featuring pro surfers Matt Kechele and Wes Laine! The 1st session begins at 0800, followed by a cookout at noon. The 2nd session begins at 1300. Don’t wait, sign up now at the Main Exchange! Limit 40 participants per session, must be at least 6 yrs of age. Children under 18 must have a waiver signed by parent/guardian​.
