  • 1700: Kayak in the Sun: Camp Johnson, behind Bldg M104. FREE scenic one-hour guided tour through Camp Lejeune's waterways! Register at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18.

  • 1830: Challenging Children Workshop - Self-Help Skills: Rusell Marine & Family Services - Bldg 40, Rm 139. This free monthly workshop held on the 4th Tuesday of every month, is open to all ID card holders. Free childcare information will be shared upon registration please call 451-4103. (If you can’t make the evening workshops, we’ll be offering a daytime series as well. Please call 451-4103 for more information.)

This training is specifically designed for this purpose. Used properly, the principles you will discover in the workshop will empower you to improve the personal relationships in your life. Open to couples who have recently experienced a Homecoming in the last 3 months and are in the process of reintegration. Free on-site childcare with advanced registration.

Stop by Paradise Point Golf Course every Thursday for Twisted Thursdays and say goodbye to traffic! Enjoy a different format each week with no restrictions. The $12 entry fee includes your greens fee and cart rental. Show time is 1700, tee off at 1730. Find out how valuable Hurricane Preparedness: the Family Care Plan is, and the components it contains. The Budget for Baby workshop will teach budgeting techniques & the impact a baby has on a family's finances. A FREE layette is available to all USMC/USN families who attend that class and are expecting a baby. The layettes contain brand name infant items and a handmade blanket.   • 1130: EFMP Meet & Greet: Russell Marine & Family Services, Bldg 40, Rm 136.  Exceptional Family Member Program will be hosting a Meet & Greet gathering the first Friday of every month. The program offers an orientation to the Marine Corps lifestyle, helping the participant better understand the unique challenges military life often presents. Understanding the root cause of anger can help you transform your life. Learn how to discharge and express anger in appropriate ways.   • 1100: Challenging Children - ADHD/ODD. Bldg 40 - Russell Marine & Family Services, Rm 139. What can you do when your child starts screaming in a crowded area for no reason? How should you react? How can we help our children have better behavior in any situation? This daytime workshop presented by Butterfly Effects for parents, educators and childcare providers will provide insight into the actions of those more challenging children and what they can do to alleviate some of the problems.   • 1830: Beyond the Brief Workshop Series- The difference between Combat Stress and PTSD : MCFTB Office Bldg LC 4012-A Butler Drive, Midway Park. Participants are guided through the confusion of this sometimes overused but concerning topic. Group discussions include: the differences between Combat stress and PTSD, Signs and Symptoms, what is normal, and when or if to be concerned. Spouses leave with a clear understanding on what do to if symptoms persist and who to contact if need be. A very informative and enlightening workshop.   • 0900: Ready, Set, Grow - Communication Skills workshop : Bldg 797, BEHIND Russell Marine & Family Services. Ever think you and your spouse speak different languages? This FREE workshop, taught by licensed professionals from Military & Family Life Consultants, can help you; identify the components of communication, recognize roadblocks to communication and learn how to communicate more effectively. Free childcare information and process will be shared upon registration. Each 90 minute session is the same. Call the Counseling Services Branch at 451-2864 to register for the time slot that best fits your schedule.
  • 1000: Well-Baby Clinic: Midway Park Chapel. Visiting Nurses will be on hand to weigh & measure your child as well as answer any questions about your child's health. The clinic also offers a FREE clothing exchange and open to all military families with military ID card.

  • 0830: Healthy Communication in Relationships - Health Promotions, Bldg 302 Holcomb Blvd. What prevents you from communicating effectively? Whether it’s baggage from the past, or good old fashioned differences between male and female communication styles—there can be lots of barriers that get in the way of positive, healthy interaction. Learn about the critical differences in how males and females think and react to circumstances, and gain a better understanding of in-depth programs available on base that are designed to promote healthier interaction among couples. Participants learn that the CACO process is a part of the military culture and that every spouse should understand how the process works, when it is implemented and why it is carried out in the manner it is. Clearly yet sensitively, all aspects are discussed, notification through benefits. This workshop is a must for all spouses, and for all situations.   • 1000: Well-Baby Clinic: Tarawa Terrace Community Center. Visiting Nurses will be on hand to weigh & measure your child as well as answer any questions about your child's health. The clinic also offers a FREE clothing exchange and open to all military families with military ID card.

First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18.

  • 0900: Smooth Move Workshop: Bldg AS-232, Marine & Family Annex. Will provide information to service members and their families with PCS orders to a CONUS or OCONUS duty station. Focus is on pre-departure preparation, PCS entitlements and benefits, movement of household goods, temporary and permanent housing, sponsorship and the the relocation assistance program.   • 1730: While We Wait Club - A Night at the Beach: AS-233, New River Chapel Annex. This club like atmosphere will be a safe place for children to do "In the Midst" activities. This month the theme will be "A Night at the Beach." We will be participating in fun camping activities while emphasizing making positive choices and communication, creating items to send to the parent, and healthy ways to express our feelings. Open to authorized patrons grades 1 - 5 who have a parent deployed or away. Call 449-5343 to register.
