9 May- Monday

Camp Lejeune:

New River:
  • 1030: LINKS for Parents & Extended Family Members: New River Chapel Annex. Trying to understand the military lifestyle? This program offers an orientation to the Marine Corps lifestyle, helping the participant better understand the unique challenges military life often presents.

  • 1800: SMP FREE Bowling & Pizza! MCAS Bowling Center
10 May - Tuesday

Camp Lejeune:
  • 0930: Ready, Set, Grow! Healthy Relationship Skills: Bldg 797 behind Russell Marine & Family Services. This FREE workshop, taught by licensed professionals from Military & Family Life Consultants, can help you identify the components of a healthy & loving relationship, recognize signs that one or both might not be ready for a committed relationship, and learn tips for choosing a long term relationship for the right reasons. Call 451-2864 to register and for info about childcare.
  • 1000: Well Baby Clinic: Midway Park Chapel: Visiting nurses will be there to weigh & measure your child as well as answer any questions about your child's health. The clinic also offers a FREE clothing exchange and open to all military families with military ID card. Call 451-5346/5584 for more information

  • 1700: Kayak in the Sun: Camp Johnson behind the BOQ. View flyer for more dates/details. Enjoy a FREE scenic one-hour guided tour through Camp Lejeune's waterways! Register at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18

  • 1900: Tornado Recovery Support Group: CREDO Office. TT-2461. This support group will meet every Tuesday in May, starting 10 May at 1900. Childcare will be available via vouchers for registered children. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, please call 450-1668.
New River:
  • 0830: His Needs/Her Needs Workshop: AS-232.
    This class is designed to help couples understand how to better communicate with each other and build a stronger marriage. Great for couples after a deployment or long separation. For more information or to register, call 449-5343.

  • 0900: LINKS for Spouses, Day 1. AS-233, New River Chapel Annex.
    Come and learn about the military way of life! This event is a two day workshop. Free and open to any and all spouses of our military branches. For more information, call 449-4676/5343.

  • 1300: Stress & Anger Management Classes, Series 2, Part 2 of 4. Bldg AS-90 Marine & Family Services. Dealing with Difficult People. Learn practical techniques to deal with difficult people. Call 449-6110 to reserve your seat.

11 May - Wednesday

  • 1830: Suicide Awareness for Families: Bldg 40 - Russell Marine & Family Services, Rm 139. Strong, knowledgeable, and aware families can identify when someone is in need, and step in to help before it’s too late. It is often difficult to recognize the signs of severe depression among adults and adolescents. Gaining a better understanding of the problem, and learning what tools and resources are available can help save lives. This free workshop is open all ID cardholders. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.

  • 1000: Wounded Warrior Caregiver Support Program: Bldg 40, Russell Marine & Family Services. Feel like no one understands what you're going through? Don't want to burden your family with the stressors in your life? Join us! There will be no pressure to speak - you can just come listen - but realize you are NOT ALONE! Wounded Warrior Bn will be in attendance to demystify the Wounded Warrior process as well as to answer any questions about benefits, medical help, TBI, & PTSD and provide you with resources that can help.   • REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Major League Baseball Umpire Camp! FREE!  Work with some of the best professional baseball umpires to learn how the “Big Leagues” do it. This one-day camp will prepare you to work as an umpire while teaching you the fundamentals. FREE lunch included. Open to all authorized patrons. Space is limited; first come, first served.   • 0630: ZipQuest Zipline Tour: Fayetteville, NC. Zip through the forest and experience nature’s wonders, including the area’s only waterfall!
