Camp Lejeune:
  • 0830: Stress Management Workshop: Bldg 302 Holcomb Blvd. Learning to identify the causes and symptoms of stress can help you successfully manage daily hassles and major life stressors. Discover new ways to relieve stress and begin the journey towards being stress free. This free workshop is open all ID cardholders. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.

  • 1000: Well Baby Clinic: Tarawa Terrace Community Center: Visiting nurses will be there to weigh & measure your child as well as answer any questions about your child's health. The clinic also offers a FREE clothing exchange and open to all military families with military ID card. Call 451-5346/5584 for more information

  • 1700: Kayak in the Sun: Camp Johnson behind the BOQ. View flyer for more dates/details. Enjoy a FREE scenic one-hour guided tour through Camp Lejeune's waterways! Register at the Outdoor Adventures Office in Goettge memorial Field House. First come, first served. Space is limited. Kayaking is open to all authorized patrons ages 10 and up. Parent/Guardian must accompany children ages 10-18
New River:
  • 1300: How to Start a Small Business: AS-232, Marine & Family Annex. Ever dreamed of owning your own business? Don't let your dreams fade away. Local experts will lead you down the right path. This is a 3 hour awareness workshop designed to give an overview of starting a business as well as an introduction to business planning. Topics will include: factors to consider, permits and licenses, developing a business plan, tax information, financing sources, where to get assistance, and advantages/disa​dvantages of owning a business. This workshop is free and open to all active duty, DoD personnel, veterans, and their spouses. For more information call 449-5255. Pre-registratio​n is required by COB on May 2 at 449-6110.

  • 1300: Stress & Anger Management Class, Series 2, Part 1 of 4. AS-90, Marine & Family Services Building. In this first class, you will learn the basic principles of stress management. Call 449-6110 to reserve your seat

  • 1700: Mother's Day Crafts at Station Library. Ages 3-7. Kids can join us to create crafts for Mother's Day gifts. Light refreshments will be served.
4 May - Wednesday

Camp Lejeune:
  • 0830: Anger Management Workshop: Bldg 302 Holcomb Blvd. Got anger? Learning the root cause of it can transform your life. Take active steps to learn how to express your anger appropriately and manage it rather than letting anger control your life. Free and open to ID card holders.   • 0900: ABCs of Home Buying & Selling. Relocation Assistance Program Classroom, Bldg 40, Russell Marine & Family Services. Come and learn the basics of Home Buying and Selling. This popular free workshop provides consumer information about what to look for when purchasing a home. A financial advisor is also on hand to provide information about mortgages, interest rates, VA loans and more! A reference library is also available.   • 1030: OWC Scholarship/ Election Luncheon.
New River:
  • 0800: Domestic Violence Training. Bldg AS-90. Marine & Family Programs. The workshop's goal is the prevention and awareness of domestic violence. Emphasis is on the prevention, recognition, prompt notification and reporting and availability of responsive services. Special attention should be placed on training military leaders in identifying signs of child and domestic violence and appropriately use FAP referral procedures to address the needs of family violence.   • 0830: Pre-Marital Workshop: Bldg AS-232. This workshop for engaged couples is designed to provide insights and knowledge of the marriage relationship. Discuss topics such as investing in your marriage, what predicts divorce, communication, finanancial responsibility, in-laws and dangerous behavior that all impact the relationship.   • 1100: EFMP Family Workshop: Transition to Adulthood: Bldg AS-232, Marine & Family Annex. EFMP with the ECAC (Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center)offers a continuation of the most requested workshop series for parents and professionals. Lunch will be served. This month's class is "Transition to Adulthood". Open to all EFMP family members. For more information or to pre-register, call 449-4894.
5 May - Thursday - Cinco de Mayo!!

  • 1300: Taking Control of Your Finances: Bldg 302, Holcomb Blvd. This interactive training session covers the basics of starting a personal financial plan. Participants focus on developing realistic and measurable personal financial goals. Maintaining a workable budget to include savings, understanding military pay, and managing your credit/checkboo​k are further explored. All ID cardholders can register for this free workshop, please call 910-451-2865

  • 1700: Cinco de Mayo Taco Bar Night at Smedley's at Paradise Point Officers Club. Bring your family and friends out to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and top off your tacos with more than 10 items to suit your taste buds. We’ll have traditional Mexican sides, Margarita specials, and more. Fiesta attire welcome! Smedley’s Café is open to authorized O’Club patrons and their guests. Camp Lejeune:
  • REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Major League Baseball Umpire Camp! FREE!  Work with some of the best professional baseball umpires to learn how the “Big Leagues” do it. This one-day camp will prepare you to work as an umpire while teaching you the fundamentals. FREE lunch included. Open to all authorized patrons. Space is limited; first come, first served.   • 0900: Budget for Baby Workshop: Workforce Learning Center at corner of McHugh & O. The Budget for Baby workshop will teach budgeting techniques & the impact a baby has on a family's finances. A FREE layette is available to all USMC/USN families who attend that class and are expecting a baby. The layettes contain brand name infant items and a handmade blanket.   • 1130: EFMP Meet & Greet: Bldg 40, Russell Marine & Family Service Building. Rm 136. Exceptional Family Member Program will be hosting a Meet & Greet gathering the first Friday of every month. Come meet other EFMP families and learn about resources available on base. Free childcare will be available with advance reservation- call 451-2672. Refreshments will be provided. New River:
  • 1700: LINKS for Kids: New River Chapel Annex: L.I.N.K.S. for Kids is a program designed to empower kids with the knowledge and skills to thrive as military children. A fun and interactive workshop that uses creative learning to share the L.I.N.K.S. topics of Getting Along, Moving, Deployment, Internet Safety, Marine Corps Values and more! Free food and fun for the kids.They will play games, make crafts, share stories, eat snacks and have lots of fun talking about all of the things military kids experience. Open to authorized patrons kindergarten through 5th grade. Pre-register at 449-4676/5343.
7 May - Saturday

Camp Lejeune:
  • 0400: Deep Sea Fishing: Morehead City, NC. A full day of sun, fun, and fishing! $90 covers travel and everything you need to fish! Make sure to bring a cooler to keep the fish that you catch on ice. Registration Deadline: 4 May. Register at Outdoor Adventures Office, building 751 Goettge Memorial Field House. Depart the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot at 0400. Boat leaves Morehead City, NC at 0600, returning at 1700. You’ll get back to base around 1900. View flyer!

  • 0600: Team Bass Tournament: Gottschalk Marina. Two-person teams fish for Largemouth Bass on the New River and its tributaries. The average prize is $2,500 based on 50 boats. Guarantee $1,000 cash prize per tournament. Trophies and cash prizes are awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Pre-register for $70 or $85 on the day of the event. Sponsor giveaways by drawings, and food and soft drinks are provided at weigh-in. Event open to the public. Active duty teams may participate through the usage of unit funds with permission from the unit’s Special Services Officer. Tournament starts at 0600 or safe light.

  • 1200: Mother's Day Tea: Tarawa Terrace Community Center: FREE! Moms, come attend a fun tea with your kids! Light brunch food will be served, along with cookies decorated by your kids for dessert.   • 1200: Show Us What Ya Got Try-outs: MCX Main Exchange. If you can sing and want to compete for a chance to win cash prizes, then come out and Show Us Whatcha Got! Preliminary tryouts: Sat, 7 May from 1200-1400, at MCX Camp Lejeune. Finale: Sat, 21 May, begins at 1900 on Maynia Main Stage. Must be 13+ years old; if under 18, parent must be present. Download registration form and email to lemairema@usmc-​ On-site registration is also available day of tryouts.

  • 1100: Youth & Teen Mother's Day Brunch: Youth & Teen Activities Center. Free Mother's Day Celebration for all authorized patrons and their guests. Call 449-6711 to RSVP, Limited Space Available.

  • 0900: Mother's Day Brunch: New River Landing Zone. Take Mommy out for something special on her special day. Join us at the New River Landing Zone for our annual Mother's Day Lunch.
