Events, Activities, and Workshops on Camp Lejeune & MCAS New River

3 April - 
            Camp Lejeune:
  • 1200: Hidden Talents Spring Craft Fair - Marston Pavilion. Military themed items, signs & plaques, woodworking, baskets, and more!
  • 1300: Learn to Kayak - Roll Class: Learn the most efficient form of self-rescue after capsizing. Ages 15+. First come, first serve. Cost is $30 including equipment. 

  • 1400: Camp Johnson Library Matinee:   Come join up for a free movie and popcorn! Showing: "Jonah" rated PG-13

4 April

  • 1800: SMP: FREE BOWLING & PIZZA @ MCAS Bowling Center

  • 1800: High School Transition Workshop:  New River Marine & Family Annex (Bldg AS-232). For the parents of teens who are entering high school. This free workshop will provide guidance on resources, college prep info, classes, & how to communicate about school issues. They will also address what you need to know if you have to PCS during your child's high school years. Please call 449-4702 to register.

5 April 
    Camp Lejeune:

  • 0830: Stress Management Workshop: Bldg 302 - Health Promotions. Learn to identify the causes and symptoms of stress and how to successfully manage daily stress as well as life's major stressors. Discover new ways to relieve stress and take the first step to becoming stress-free! Open to all ID card holders. Please call 451-2865 to register.

  • 1000: Well Baby Clinic: Tarawa Terrace Community Center. Visiting Nurses will weigh and measure your child as well as answer any questions you may have about your baby's health. There will be a FREE clothing exchange too!

      New River:

6 April 

      Camp Lejeune:
  • 0830: Anger Management Workshop: Out of control rage can cause hurt and distress. Understanding the root of your anger can change your life! Learn how to express anger in appropriate ways and take control of your anger instead of letting it control you. FREE and open to all ID card holders. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.
     New River:
  • 0800: Domestic Violence Training: Bldg AS-90, Marine & Family Programs. The workshop's goal is the prevention and awareness of domestic violence. The Family Advocacy Program will be on-hand to provide education, support, and awareness information. This workshop will help you better understand risk factors and the dynamics of child & domestic abuse.  For more information or to register, call 449-6110.

  • 0900: Introduction to Law Enforcement. AS-232, Marine & Family Annex. Thinking of going into law enforcement? Learn about application & testing procedures for local, as well as state & federal agencies. Ask all your questions about physical ability, training, standards, and more! Open to all authorized patrons. RSVP at 449-6110, or call 449-5255 for information.

  • 1100: EFMP Family Workshop  - Moving from early intervention to pre-school/kindergarten: Bldg AS-232 Marine & Family Annex. Lunch will be served. Hosted by EFMP along with ECAC (Exceptional Children's Assistance Center). This is a continuation of the most requested workshop series!

  • 1700: Pretty Princess story & dress-up time! Station Library. Ages 3-7. Children will listen to stories and design purses for themselves. Come dressed in your own princess costume! Pre-Register at the library, or by calling 449-6715, by April 4.

7 April

      Camp Lejeune:

Customer Appreciation Day at Paradise Point Golf Course
  • 1300: Taking Control of Your Finances! Bldg 302, Holcomb Blvd. An interactive workshop providing the tools necessary to create your own personal budget plan. Participants focus on developing realistic and measurable personal financial goals.Understanding military pay will be addressed as well as managing your checkbook/credit. Please call 910-451-2865 to register.

    New River:
  • 1300: Healthy Homes & Healthy Children: Bldg AS-90, Marine & Family Services. This workshop is designed to educate parents/step-parents/significant caregivers on the impact of family violence as well as the impact of sexually inappropriate material, media, TV violence and more on children. Pre-registratio​n is required. Reserve your class seat by calling 449-6110.

8 April     

           Camp Lejeune:

  • 0830: How to Avoid Failling for a Jerk or Jerkette :-) Bldg 302, Health Promotions, Holcomb Blvd. Designed to help singles & singles-again with partner selection. Join us as we empower you to build healthier relationships through your journey! Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.

  • 1830: Free Family Movie Night! Harriotte B Smith Library. A free showing of "Harry Potter & the Deathly Hollows" (PG-13) complete with popcorn & drinks!
        New River:
  • 0900: Smooth Move Workshop: Bldg AS-232 Marine & Family Annex.  Focus is on pre-departure preparation, PCS entitlements and benefits, movement of household goods, temporary and permanent housing, sponsorship and the the relocation assistance program. Open to all active duty members and their spouses. Call 449-5258 or email kathy.peterpaul​ to register.

  • 1730: While We Wait Club: Proud to be a Military Child: AS-232, Marine & Family Programs Annex. They will be discovering healthy ways to express their feelings and making gifts for their parent that is away. Ages kindergarten to 5th grade who have a deployed parent. For more information or to register call 449-5343
  • 1730: BABY BOOT CAMP REUNION! Bldg AS-233, New River Chapel Annex. For 2010 Baby Boot Camp Graduates!  It will provide an opportunity for our parents to socialize with other parents who completed the program. RSVP by April 1 at New River Marine and Family Services (Bldg AS-90), or call 449-4866.

  • 1900: SMP KAREOKE NIGHT! New River Enlisted Club.
9 April

***Stone Bay MUD RUN! Open to the public. Starts at 8am.***

             Camp Lejeune:
  • 1200: SNCO Club's Family Appreciation Day! Bldg 825 Stone Street. Free burgers & hotdogs, face painting, games, prizes, and more! Click here to view the flyer!

  • 1400:Ol' School Family Recess: Tarawa Terrace Community Center. Remember Red Rover, Simon Says, & Duck, Duck, Goose? Bring the whole family and come play! This event is FREE and open to all authorized patrons. Register at MCCS Tarawa terrace Community Center by 7 Apr. For more info, call 450-1687

       New River:
  • 0730-1130: YARD SALE! Station Theater Parking Lot. Need to clean out the garage?  No commercial products allowed. Register at MCCS Gear Issue (Bldg 112) by April 4 for $5 per table (limit of 2 tables per person), or $7 after April 4. Rain date will be April 16. Open to all authorized base patrons.   • 0900: LINKS for Spouses: New River Chapel Annex. Come and learn about the military way of life! This event is a two day workshop. Free and open to any and all spouses of our military branches. For more information, call 449-4676/5343.
