    Camp Lejeune:

  • 0930: Controlling Anger - Ready, Set, Grow Series: Bldg 797 - behind Russell Family Services. Is anger creating problems in your relationships? Would you like to learn the healthy ways to express your anger? This FREE workshop will teach the positive and negative aspects of anger and help you become aware of the 4 steps to de-escalate when you feel yourself becoming angry. The same class will be taught 13 April at 1830 and 14 April at 1130. Call the Counseling Services Branch at 451-2864 to register for the time slot that best fits your schedule

  • 1000: Well Baby Clinic: Midway Park Chapel. Visiting Nurses will weigh and measure your child as well as answer any questions you may have about your baby's health. There will be a FREE clothing exchange too!


      New River:
  • 0830: Couples Communication - Day 1 - Bldg AS-90, Marine & Family Programs. A two-part workshop for people wanting to strengthen their marriage. You will learn communication skills, identify communication blocks, and find solutions through problem-solving techniques and anger control. A financial counselor will also be offering tips on budgeting, creating savings plans, and avoiding credit traps. Day 2 will be on 19 April. Registration is required. Call 449-6110 to reserve a class seat

  • 0900: Family Readiness Assistant/ Advisor Training: Bldg AS-232. Marine Corps Family Team Building. For spouses interested in volunteering for their unit and assisting the unit's Family Readiness Officer. Open to all Marine spouses. Topics covered include: communication and resources for families. For more information call 449-5343.

  • 1900: Internet Safety for Parents & Teens: Bldg AS-232, New River Marine & Family Annex. Call 449-5343 for more information on this class that will teach you the dangers of the internet and ways to keep your family safe

13 April- Wednesday

  • 0830: Improving Self-Esteem: Bldg 302 - Health Promotions. Your opinion of yourself impacts every aspect of your life. Improving confidence and poise increases self-satisfacti​on and perceived success! Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.

  • 0830: Alcohol 101 Workshop:  Bldg 302, Holcomb Blvd, Health Promotions. When is the next drink "too much"? What's the big deal? Learn to prevent alcohol related tragedies and how to stop alcohol from negatively impacting your life. Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register

  • 1000: Spousal Post-Deployment Support Group: Bldg 40, Russell Marine & Family Services. All caregivers/spouses are welcome - anyone that needs answers/support! Know that you're not alone, there are many others that understand what you're going through and that are experiencing the very same thing! There is no pressure to talk or participate if you attend. Representatives from the Wounded Warrior Battalion will be on hand to demystify the Wounded Warrior process and answer any questions you may have - including info about TBI, PTSD, resources, compensation & benefits, medical help, case managers, and more. Any questions please contact Kristy Jones at 910.381.2010 or kristy.jones@us​mc.mil

  • 1830: O'Club Wine Tasting - Austria: Paradise Point Officers Club. Experience wines from Austria that will be paired with fantastic appetizers for your enjoyment.   • 0800: New River Welcome Aboard Brief: New River Enlisted Club. Become oriented with your new duty station and the surrounding community! In accordance with MCO and ASO 1754.2A all E7 and below and 0-4 and below are required to attend, however, all military, dependents, and DoD personnel are welcome to come.   • 0830: Five Love Languages Workshop: Bldg AS-232, New River Marine & Family Annex. Find out which one of the five love languages you identify most with! Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, or Physical Teach? Come explore the different love languages!

  • 0830: Financial Management/ Car Buying Workshop: Bldg AS-90, Marine & Family Services.
    Take this workshop and explore the options and develop a better understanding when purchasing a vehicle. For more information, call 449-6110

  • 1000: Pre-School Story Time at The Station Library: Open to ages 3-5. Story time, crafts, and fun!
15 April- Friday

  • 0830: RELAX! Bldg 302, Health Promotions, Holcomb Blvd. Slow down, take a rest, and breathe. Find ways to enter into deep, peaceful relaxation. Learn new techniques that will help you melt your stress away! Please call Health Promotion, 451-2865 to register.
  • 0900: Budget for Baby Workshop: Bldg 524 (At Corner of McHugh & O St.)- Learn what impact a baby has on your family finances and how to implement budgeting techniques.  A FREE layette is available to all USMC/USN families who attend that class and are expecting a baby. The layettes contain brand name infant items and a handmade blanket. Call 451-5346/5584 to register. 

  • 1500: Navy/Marine Corps Relief Society Foundation 5k: Camp Johnson PT Field. Pre-registratio​n now through Friday, April 8 at Bldg 418, Camp Johnson. Late registration will go on the afternoon of the race from 1-3 p.m. ONLY. Race will start at 3 p.m. All funds collected will go to support the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.   • 0900: Smooth Move Workshop: Bldg AS-232 Marine & Family Annex.  Focus is on pre-departure preparation, PCS entitlements and benefits, movement of household goods, temporary and permanent housing, sponsorship and the the relocation assistance program.   • 1730: While We Wait Club: Proud to be a Military Child: AS-232, Marine & Family Programs Annex. They will be discovering healthy ways to express their feelings and making gifts for their parent that is away. Ages kindergarten to 5th grade who have a deployed parent.   • 1730: BABY BOOT CAMP REUNION! Bldg AS-233, New River Chapel Annex. For 2010 Baby Boot Camp Graduates!  It will provide an opportunity for our parents to socialize with other parents who completed the program.   • 1400:Ol' School Family Recess: Tarawa Terrace Community Center. Remember Red Rover, Simon Says, & Duck, Duck, Goose? Bring the whole family and come play!        New River:
  • 0730-1130: YARD SALE! Station Theater Parking Lot. Need to clean out the garage?  No commercial products allowed. Register at MCCS Gear Issue (Bldg 112) by April 4 for $5 per table (limit of 2 tables per person), or $7 after April 4. Rain date will be April 16. Open to all authorized base patrons.
