Events and Activities on Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River this week!

20 February 
  • Camp Lejeune:
    • 0700 - 2-man 9-9 at Paradise Point Golf Course. Cost $10 not including greens fees and cart 
  • New River:
    • 1000 - SMP: Paintball Tournament @ Cherry Point Paintball Fields. $20 includes             transportation, equipment rental, and all day play. Call 449-5145 to reserve your spot
21 February - PRESIDENT'S DAY!

22 February -
  • Camp Lejeune
    • 1830 - Challenging Children Workshop - FREE! Russell Marine & Family Services. Bldg             40. Techniques to manage difficult behaviors. This workshop series will continue the 4th            Tuesday of every month. Call 451-4103 to register
  • New River
    • 0930 - Making Children Mind Without Losing Yours - Part II. Marine & Family Annex.              FREE! Based on teachings of Dr. Kevin Leman. Call 449-4702 to register.
    • 0930 - Crazy Care Packages - They have the boxes, tape, and cricket machine to make             posters, pictures, cards, and letters. Bring your loved one's favorite things, or shop for a             themed care package. This month's themes are "Breakfast in Bed" "Luck of the Irish" or              "I'm Nuts about You" Call 449-5343 to register
    • 1200 - SMP: Trivia Tuesday @ New River Enlisted Club
    • 1815 - EFMP Workshop: Positive Behavior Supports. New River Marine & Family            Annex. Dinner will be served. Open to all EFMP family members.  Register by            calling 449-4894
23 February
  • Camp Lejeune
    • 0830: Nutrition Basics workshop: Health Promotions. Free to all ID card holders. Call             451-2865 to register.
    • 1100: Challenging Children - Social Skills @ Marine & Family Services Center.              Workshop is free and provides insight into the actions of challenging children and how to             manage behaviors. Call 910-451-4103 for info and to register.
    • 1200: Camp Johnson Lunch N Books. Lunch is free. Enjoy the company and chat about the           book "One for the Money" - a hilarious love story by Janet Evanovich.. Register by            calling 450-0844. Book can be borrowed from the library.
    • 1830: Beyond the Brief Workshop Series - at Midway Park Family Team Building. This           week they will be discussing the process of CACO, when it is implemented, and why the           process works like it does. Spouses should feel free to ask any questions in this small            group setting. Call 451-0176 for more info and to register

  • New River
    • 0900- Family Readiness Assitant/Advisor Training Bldg AS 232 Family Team Building.           This class is for spouses that wish to volunteer for their unit and assist the FRO. Call            449-5343 to register.
    • 0900- Estate Planning Workshop Marine & Family Programs Bldg. This workshop is            designed to assist in ensuring that your finances are prepared for your retirement or            death. It will also discuss the importance of wills and power of attorneys. For more            information or to register, call 449-6110
    • 1300- Federal Resume (CHART) Workshop at New River Marine & Family Annex              Learn the ins and outs of the Dept of the Navy's online resume system. Learn to              format your resume & navigate applications. Call 449-6110 to register

    • 0830 - Alcohol 101 Workshop - @ Bldg 302 (Health Promotions) - Learn to prevent alcohol related tragedies and letting alcohol negatively impact your life. Call 451-2865.
    • 1100- Lunch & Learn: African American War Hero - @ Bldg 524. Bring your lunch and           watch the movie "African American War Heroes - True Stories of Patriotism & Valor".            A facilitated discussion will follow
    • 1300- Investment Basics Workshop - Bldg 302 on Holcomb. Understand the process            involved in saving and investment planning. Free to ID holders. Call 451-2865.
    • 1700- Rock on! Climbing Wall Class - Courthouse Bay gym. FREE! Learn belaying &           climbing techniques. Ages 18+. Call  440-7447/7454. Space limited.
    • 1900- EFMP: Multiple Sclerosis Overview 2011- Marine & Family Services. Rm 139.           General overview of MS including types, diagnoses, symptoms, treatment, an                     management. You'll also learn about the programs offered by the National MS Society.           Call 451-4103 to register

    • 0800- Welcome Aboard Brief - at New River Enlisted Club. Become oriented with your             new duty station and meet other new families!
    • 0900- Family Care Plan Workshop- at Family Team Building. Learn about the importance           of having a good family care plan in place. *Marine Corps Order 1740.13A requires al           single-parent Marines and dual active duty military couples to complete a Family Care            Plan. 25 February

  • Camp Lejeune
    • 0830 - RELAX! Health Promotions Bldg 302. Learn new techniques to let go and de-stress            Call 451-2865 to register
    • 1830 - FREE Movie Night! Alpha and Omega- Tarawa Terrace Community Center. Free!            Movie is PG. Bring the family and enjoy refreshments
  • New River
    • 0900- L.I.N.K.S for Marines - New River Chapel Annex. Learn to make the most of the            military lifestyle! Call 449-4676 for info and to register
    • 0900- Couples Reintegration Workshop- This class is free and open to all couples who           have experienced a homecoming or reunion in the last six months. Free childcare with           advanced registration. Call 449-5343 to pre-register
    • 1830- Kids & Deployment Valentine's Game Night - New River Chapel Annex. Get your           deployment off to a good start! Parents and kids will learn seperately and then come           back together to play games. Open to all parents and children kindergarten and up who            have a parent deployed. Free childcare for kids below age 5. Call 449-5343 to register.
26 February

    • 0700 - 2-man Best Ball Pick Your Own @ Paradise Point Golf Course
    • 0830- Paintball at Sportsmans Lodge - Patrons 18 and under must be accompanied by           guardian. Cost $35 includes rental equipment. Depart from Goettge Memorial Field           House. Register at the Outdoor Adventures office in the Field House.
    • 0900- Family Fun Run - Tarawa Terrace Community Center. A "Smart Heart" Run!            Visit for more info
    • 1000- Travel Expo - Marston Pavilion- Prize drawings throughout the day. Grand prize            is a trip to Myrtle Beach!
  • New River
    • 0900 - Beyond the Brief: Taking Care of Your Own- featuring tips on home and car safety            and personal safety, too! New River Marine & Family Annex
    • 2000- UFC Fight Night!- New River Enlisted Club. FREE FOOD courtesy of SMP
